HOW TO CALCULATE ELECTRICITY BILL
Total electricity bill = F.C ( Fixed charge ) + E.C ( Electricity charge ) + E.D ( Electricity duty )
All F.C , E.C and E.D are written on bill downloaded through uppcl website.
FOR, NON LIFELINE DOMESTIC CONSUMER -:
1) Fixed charge = 120 Rs / kw
eg-: If Mr. X has 4KW connection in his house , then his
fixed charge become = 120*4 => 480 Rs
If 3 tenants are living in that house then 480 Rs get divided equally among 3 tenants
so it become
480/3 => 160 Rs
so each tenants have to pay 160 Rs as a fixed charge
2) Electricity charge
( 0 to 150 ) Unit ------> 5.5 Rs
( 151 to 300 ) Unit ------> 6 Rs
( 301 to 500 ) Unit ------> 6.5 Rs
above 501 Unit -------> 7 Rs
eg-: If in month of June, in Mr. X house 161 Unit bill comes
0 to 150 Unit -----> 150 * 5.5 => 825 Rs
11 Unit ------> 11 * 6 => 66 Rs
150 + 11 => 161 Unit -----------------> 825 + 66 => 891 Rs
3) Electricity duty ---> It is written on bill
Let for Mr X , Electricity duty comes for month June = 125 Rs
So total Electricity bill for Mr. X = Fixed charge + Electricity charge + Electricity duty
= 480 + 891 + 125
= 1496 Rs
